It drives me crazy that I can't find a commecial tablet running Linux. This is as close as I can get, I think. It somewhat reminds me of my original Apple II+ I got back in 1981. That computer came with actual schematics. This will be wonderful for my granddaughter, if I can get her interested. I have a canakit Raspberry PI running a little apache web server NAT'd through my inernect modem/router. Maybe she would enjoy having her OWNS site.
This tool is perfect for expanding your Raspberry Pi with a large touchpad and many ports. I have a RasPad 3 and I use it as a tablet, as a diagnostic tool for my IoT projects.
Came here after a youtube review. Great product, VERY INTERESTED! Per Ben and Didier below (a little harsh but ok) the main thing I believe is SSD capability for either nvme or sata as far as I'm concerned. Raspberry Pi foundation and all the other SOC boards out there in the market now need to kill the SD Card functionality. Number one, memory is cheap enough as I type this, Raspberry PI 4, 8GB RAM and 240GB SSD (Sandisk, 40 bucks) that I'm booting too with the Raspberry Pi 64 bit OS. More than enough power to do everything I need. Not bragging but your RASPAD can be the same easily. Add that value and I believe you'll sell a heck of a lot more. I will definitely sign up. Lastly, if your going to do that, figure out the webcam thing for zoom, etc... NICE PRODUCT GUYS!
As the previous review, yes the fan is very noisy but I replaced it with a new-Shim fan which connects to the Pi GPIO pins and is very quiet now.
Your Raspad 3 is a very good step, but it falls short on a number of expectations. Here are some suggestions for RasPad 4 (some are major, others are less essential) : 1 -Don't you know that all cars, campers, planes, boats can deliver 12 VDC, and NOT 15 VDC ! Your DC input should accept anything ranging from 8 to 32 VDC ! 2 - The wasted USB3 port should be used to connect an internal SSD, preferably NVMe, (capacity up to 64 GB to 1 TB) ! Forget archaic and unreliable SD cards ! 3 - Who needs 3 USB 3.0 ports? One is enough, but what a pity to drop the USB 2.0 ports, so useful to connect serial links (GPS, NMEA0183 or N2K ...) : 2 outside ports plus two internal (for the dongles) would be OK for me... 4 - Adding a Right and a Left click physical buttons would ease a lot the use of the touchscreen ! 5 - One USB type C port will soon be unavoidable ! Take courage, you can do it ! And then your concept will match a broader range of public expectations !
